Day 638: SL5B-Second Life's 5th Birthday

Second Life was offically born on June 23 2003.

This week is SL's 5th birthday, with a huge celebration!



Theres a giant birthday cake at Cake Plaza...



And a huge celebration party at the SL5B Main Stage (thats where all the green dots are ;P)



Residents from all over SL have joined together, with displays that fill 20 sims!



There are displays from communities like Caledon...

Its too bad my friend Caterin stopped looking for pianos :P

Day 631: Caledon Lionsgate

Its been a while since Ive visited the Caledon sims.

But when my friend Virrginia told me about the new mermaid AO at Caledon Lionsgate, I had to come see (thank you so much, Virrginia! :D)



Like the rest of Caledon, Lionsgate is steampunky :)

And they are totally into airships here!



Theres this whole airship platform above the clouds, just in case you wanted to fly in :P

OK...mermaids dont like heights...I'll crawl back down now...



You can summon a Hovership, which takes you from Port Caledon to Caledon Tanglewood...



...which goes right through the middle of Lionsgate.

With the rising fuel prices, thats the secret to Caledon's success: good public transportation :)



Theres even a secret underwater tunnel that runs between Tanglewood and Port Caledon.

Oh no - The Tinies in Tanglewood are planning to invade Port Caledon! Better warn the big people...



In support of Relay for Life, you can get a totally cool Mermaid Navigator AO at Lionsgate for just L$50. This AO includes mermaid animations, and swimming height control (which helps you swim without flying out of the water :D).



And hidden among the stairs is this little red poseball labeled "Dive" :)



Wheee!!!



Of course, theres underwater places to explore (not just in Lionsgate, but in all the surrounding Caledon sims :D)

Day 627: Sirena NEW Scripted/Animated Hairstyle (Makayla)

It's time for another Animated hair :)



Makayla is an Animated and Scripted hair. This dramatic hair goes from an updo, and explodes into an attention-getting tail by pulling the wooden Hair Sticks. Also, Makayla plays an animation whenever you change your hairstyle :)

You can optionally allow other people to remove the Hair Sticks and open up your hair.


All Sirena hairstyles include built-in Face Lighting so you always look your best. Just try on a demo and see the difference!

Im getting really tired from driving in the rain...maybe I should spend the night here.

Day 620: Sirena NEW Scripted/Animated Hairstyle (Calico)

It's hair release time!

Calico comes with a scripted Headband that pulls your hair back.

The cool part is that Calico includes Animation!



When you Wear or Detach the Headband, Calico plays a short animation of you straightening out your hair :)

Also, the hair has a new friendly Settings Menu. You can adjust the Face Light, Tint, and Animation all from the Settings Menu.

Day 617: Great Marine Adventure

Heehee, did someone say the "M" word? OK, its "marine", not "mermaid"... close enough though ;P

(Thanks Silk, for the LM and letting me know about this cool mermaidy place ;) )



In case you're not a mermaid, just grab one of these free helmet thingies...

And head into the the cave for your wacky underwater adventure ;)

Im so going to get helmet hair, arent I?



Its a sim-wide underwater world, full of fishes, sea creatures, and even a few monsters :)

Just follow the underwater trail... They have trails so blonde mermaids wont get lost ;P



Beware of sharks!

Is there, like, a courthouse nearby?



Theres quite a bit to see...

And somewhere down there, a treasure awaits :)



When you're done, dont forget to check out the rest of the sim...

Theres the Swampy Marsh...



And even a Haunted House (with a secret cave inside :D)!
