Day 631: Caledon Lionsgate
Its been a while since Ive visited the Caledon sims.
But when my friend Virrginia told me about the new mermaid AO at Caledon Lionsgate, I had to come see (thank you so much, Virrginia! :D)
Like the rest of Caledon, Lionsgate is steampunky :)
And they are totally into airships here!
Theres this whole airship platform above the clouds, just in case you wanted to fly in :P
OK...mermaids dont like heights...I'll crawl back down now...
You can summon a Hovership, which takes you from Port Caledon to Caledon Tanglewood...
...which goes right through the middle of Lionsgate.
With the rising fuel prices, thats the secret to Caledon's success: good public transportation :)
Theres even a secret underwater tunnel that runs between Tanglewood and Port Caledon.
Oh no - The Tinies in Tanglewood are planning to invade Port Caledon! Better warn the big people...
In support of Relay for Life, you can get a totally cool Mermaid Navigator AO at Lionsgate for just L$50. This AO includes mermaid animations, and swimming height control (which helps you swim without flying out of the water :D).
And hidden among the stairs is this little red poseball labeled "Dive" :)
Wheee!!!
Of course, theres underwater places to explore (not just in Lionsgate, but in all the surrounding Caledon sims :D)

Thanks for the heads up! The mermaid AO I had was pretty basic and unpractical. I didn't know Kamillah was such an amazing engineer! Wow.

I've been spending a fair amount of time in a finny state lately, and I absolutely love that AO (btw, if anyone bought it about 2 weeks ago, there has been another update since then, essentially an easier sink and surface thingee).
And I too am looking forward to Argylle's underwater gardens! In the meantime, the area around Lionsgate has five (!) ocean sims, with more than a few hidden underwater grottos and such.
Final note for the finny set, there is a new sim "Aquaria" which is an underwater city of merfolk (believe it or not, a fair number of mermen). It's an RP sim, but visitors are more than welcome (if you don't have a tail, there is a free airbubble in the welcome package :))

Oh, and that dive thing is free to buy a copy (L$0), the script is open source for your modification pleasure. Just remember to have the owner touch it to reset its home location once you move it. And don't leap over sim boundaries.
(Virrginia and I work well together. Coming up this summer, compatible seahorses to ride. Virrginia's sculpts. :) )
Kamilah, thank you so much for your wonderful sim (and for the cool mermaid AO) :) Ooo...I cant wait for the seahorses! (Ive always, always wanted to find one in SL that lets you ride side saddle! And I know Virrginia has the BEST side saddle poses :D)
Aw, thank you Miss Z! But credit goes where credit is due. The sidesaddle rider anims were made by others--Alfonso Avalanche did the originals, later reworked by Carricre Wind (of AttachmentSet fame). The Pegasus flying animations (with the fun banking and swooping) were done by Kamilah.
One of the best things about SL is getting a chance to meet and collaborate with such amazingly creative people (...and anthro kitties...and mermaids ;) )
Virrginia, thats very true :) I loved the sidesaddle pose on the horses, and I cant wait to see the pose on the seahorse!
Heehee and mermaids are pretty useless...all we worry about are our hairs ;P
