Day 610: REC

Ooo...look, a video camera to play with. And a cool new Japanese sim to explore :)

(Thanks Grace, for letting me know about this super cool sim ;))

Testing - one, two, three...

Am I on? Am I on?

This is Natalia. Today, Im checking out apartments in Japan to see what they're like :)

Well, it looks like theres some construction at this particular apartment. There's certainly a lot of red paint all over the place!

Hmm...what's with all the computers flying around?

Is that the new version of Windows?

Ooo...check out the shiny floor! Bet they had to really polish that prim to make it reflect ;P

Wow, that's a lot of stairs!

Imagine lugging groceries all the way up here! :P

Hey! Who pushed the "Play" button?

REC is a new sim that promotes a new scary Japanese movie, called..."REC" :) Heres their website: http://www.recmovie.jp.

When you arrive at REC, be sure to Wear the camera HUD (Touch the videocamera on the floor). It makes you feel like you are totally in a movie :)

You definitely have to check out this cool new sim. Click on Map, and enter "rec" in the Search box. The SLURL is REC (128,128,0).

Who says I get moody? I dont get moody. I dont! I dont!

Thank you for showing me this sim the other day, but especially thank for for showing me during the daytime!

I still yelped a few times whilst running about. I won't give any spoilers here, but let us say that the camera HUD truly enhances the experience--things are not always as much under one's control as one would like O_O

Hi! i need to know something about SL: on mine PC (the only one i played SL) the avatar moves slow and like 'cut' and i don't know if it's normal for this game or it's just me.. it gets me frustrated!!
I need your help!

Oooh! I love REC. I actually watched the movie today and the sim is DEAD ON the rooms and such potrayed in the movie. Yes, the camera is hard to get use to at first but I found it easier to walk up the stairs in mouselook mode. :P

Wow...I mean cripes that scared the bajeebies out of me! It doesn't help that its 11 at night and I live alone either. I'm...not going to sleep tonight...

Avril, oops! Heehee that explains all the non-Japanese people in the trailer ;P Thank you for correcting that...Lol and I have no idea why its in Japanese ;P

Virrginia, heehee looked like you had fun there...and that HUD is truly spooky! (And nice to see you again ;) )

Elisaisabel, if SL is moving very slow (laggy), try turing the Graphics Quality down to "Low" and lowering your Draw Distance to 64. If that works OK, then start turning things back on until it gets unbearable ;) You can change you settings under Edit/Preferences...

Kat, lol OMG I dont think I would be able to sit thru this movie (heehee at least I know I could always TP out of a sim ;P) Thank you for the comment though...I was wondering if the movie was anything like the sim :)

Arcana, lol I know what you mean...that HUD makes it so spooky. Im so glad I went thru it during the day!

HI Natalia, another sim to explore: "the world" - to me it looks like what the venice sim should look like (but without the water ways ;-)

haven't explored all of it and am not sure xactly what it is all about but the buildings are great recreations of old European buildings with a steam punk twist at times.

K, OMG, thank you so much for the suggestion! Lol I just "ran" thru it real quickly (cause they dont let you fly), but its beautiful...cant wait to go back :) Thank you so much!

Laurie, heehee welcome to SL...I hope you have a lot of fun, both in SL and with your blog ;)

Tarkin, lol Im not sure I can find the original file (outside SL)...and I dont have any place to put it anyway :P But the tutorial has complete directions to make your own (the lines are created by smudging outward, in a star pattern)
