Day 603: Garden of NPIRL Delights

Welcome to the Garden of NPIRL Delights Build Festival, the largest event of its kind in SL, put together by the Not Possible IRL group and the Rezzable.

If you like to see amazing builds, this is the place! The Garden contains works from 110 SL builders :)

(Thanks RightAsRain for the LM and K for letting me know it's opened!)

First things first - grab a HUD!

The Garden spans 4 sims! Thankfully, the HUD will take you from exihibit to exhibit. And you can stop and come back at any time ;)

Or start with a flying tour above the 4 sims...

Most of the exhibits are interactive, so you can touch, hear, sit, or play with them :)

And many of these were created by famous SL builders, like this Grotto of Lost Souls by Jopsy Pendragon, who runs the Particle Laboratory.

For the steampunk fans, theres the enormous Tower of Industrial Judgement by Eladrienne Laval & Kheph777 Enoch.

There are even a few "secret" builds, like CS Montgolfier's Hudded Masses.

So look around :)

Some of these displays are truly amazing. Wizard Gynoid built M.C. Escher's "Stars" for real in SL :)

Seifert Surface, who runs the Crooked 4D House, created this sculpture called The Sky is Falling with 1500 prims arranged by script...

Some builds are funny, like Charlot Dickins' Walk Through the Slippery Slide. OK, it wasnt that funny ;P

Some are really cool puzzles, like Tezcatlipoca Bisiani's Seek the Center (no flying :P).

All you have to do is walk to the center of the maze (where you see the flame). Of course, its not as easy as it looks ;P

There are freebies and treasures to collect too...like these magic bottles from Aloah Oh's Juggling Parrots, Erupting Volcanos, and a bottle of SL seawater.

Or free a bird or mushroom avatar from Yoa Ogee's Happy Humans! Bird House.

(Guess you had to be there :P)

Or just come to see the pretty builds, like Strawberry Holiday's Fields of Green with odd looking trees.

And this is just a few of the exhibits! You can spend an entire day just going through them all :)

The Garden is scheduled to end on June 27, 2008...so hurry before it all disappears! :(

To get started, click on Map, and enter "the dump rezzable". The SLURL is The Dump Rezzable (21,59,61).

Oh no! Aloah Oh is pumping out all the SL seawater with this diabolical machine...better warn the other mermaids!

Wow, thanks for the great article on a facinating thing! Also thanks for the hair, your hair was the first 'real' hair I got in Second Life, it was Leilani. Ahhhh Fond memories, I'll definatly be getting Lara.

I'm glad to say that i made it to the garden tonight. It's an amazing place. Easily one of the most breathtaking things I've ever seen in sl or rl. Sadly it may have also been the laggiest thing ever. But if you can deal with that or have a comp that can cut down on that then by all means this should NOT be missed!

SuLily, heehee thank you so much! Lol isnt it funny that hairs bring back memories? I do love those hair flowers ;)

Who, the Garden is truly amazing! So many things to see...lol Im still looking for the hidden statue :P

Im using my bro's old computer, so I have to cut my Draw Distance really low just to be able to move. But its well worth it! :)

Natalia, I've been inspired by you to start my own blog. You're clothes and hair are absolutely amazing. Also, great tutorials for the creative people who want to give hair design a try :) Well, all I can say is that I will visit the Garden later tonight. Happy designing!

Natalia, I remembered this song that Bobby did and thought of you! It's called Ocean Girl. :) We had a blast last night and I've almost got my hair done using your tutorial. I used the texture from Photoshop through the gradient feature. It works both ways...the lines or the gradients. :)

Blackdots, lol I saw a television series called Ocean Girl too...but I havent heard the song. BTW, congrats on the hair, and have fun with it ;)

Natalia, it's the second link on the blog....then you click on the lyrics button. Let me know if you want a link to it :) I haven't seen Ocean Girl because we don't watch that much television, but will keep an eye out for it now that you mentioned it.

One of my fave movies was "Splash."

Blackdots, Ocean Girl is an old Australian TV series (I saw it a long time ago at a friend's house). Heehee I'll pop over and check out the song...thanks for the link :)
