Day 522: Privateer Space (or Mermaid Lost-in-Space)
If you like spaceships and stuff, you definitely have to check out the Privateer Space sim!
(I first read about this on New World Notes and thanks to Virrginia for reminding me to go!)
Privateer is an entire sim of outer space. It has tons of areas to explore.
Best of all, there are lots of free goodies too :) Like this spacesuit Im wearing. It even comes with a helmet. But Im holding my breath, cause I dont want helmet-hair ;P
There is also an amazing Zero Gravity gadget you can wear. It totally makes it look like you are floating in space :)
Just grab a free spaceship, and you are ready to explore space!

BTW, its a really, really bad idea to let a mermaid fly your spaceship ;P
There are all kinds of these space station thingies to explore :)
Like this one, with crops, farm animals, and a beautiful turquiose moon :)
Or spend the night at Hotel New California...
Walk on the moon...
Or visit the little town on Mars!
They even have a chapel there...in case you ever wanted to be married in space ;P

There's even a mystery under the planets for you to solve...
And if you like to fly, check out the SL Kessel Run that takes you across a gazillion sims :)
If you havent been to Privateer Space yet, you definitely have to see this place. Its enormous! Just when you think you've seen everything, keep going up ;)
Click on Map, and enter "privateer" in the Search box. The SLURL is Privateer Space (124,133,639).

Hi Natalia! Laelia here...(showcased your place in SL at a New York educator's technolgoy conference back in November). Sorry to post here, but couldn't locate contact link. Problem: Newbie has short hair that can't be removed. Tried changing skins, shape, hair base, putting new hair on it. Any ideas as to what we can do to help her? Every time she tried on a different bald hair base it said she was already wearing it. Thx.

Nancy/Laelia, there are 2 types of hairs in SL: "SL Hair" and Attachment Hair.
An SL AV always has to wear an "SL Hair". So you cannot Take Off an SL Hair, but you can change to a different one (like another bald base or something).
To take off an Attachment Hair, just Right-click on it (right on the AV), and select Detach.
To see what the AV is wearing, go to the Inventory window and type "worn" in the Search bar at the top. This will show you the "SL Hair" and any Attachment Hairs :)
BTW, you can always IM me inworld (Natalia Zelmanov). Heehee hope it wasnt too embarrasing to mention a mermaid at the conference ;P
i love privateer space, a great place to go to try out new space ships and not get harrassed for it :)
i'v been trying to find some Pig AV's so i can re-enact pigs in space from the muppets, no one seems interested in joining in ... for some reason

Alexianna, congratulations on your new blog! And on your new adventures :) I hope you are having fun in SL! I think around 40 days is the funnest time in SL...you can get around and EVERYTHING is so new! Take care and have fun!

The beauty of SL is that you can be who/what you want to be and you do it so elegantly that I love sharing your information.
I'll pass along the hair info to my colleague...Let's hope we can get it resolved. She 'hates' her look (and I can't blame her considering the options out there).

Shockwave, heehee I saw 2...I think! I got totally lost zipping around down there :P Theres one under Mars and one under the Moon. And I have no idea what those color gem thingies are for. But they look really cool too!
