Day 493: Gossip Girl (New York Upper East)
Ive always wanted to visit New York City. The Gossip Girl TV show has created part of NY (the Upper East side) over 4 sims in SL :)
The sim was designed for fans of the Gossip Girl show. But of course, theres nothing stopping mermaids from sneaking around ;P
It looks like the real NY, at least from the movies Ive seen. It even has taxis and trucks that will run you over if you arent watching ;P
And even a nice little park in the middle of the city.
Would that be like Central Park? :P
The Gossip Girl sims were designed to promote the TV show, so you can visit some of the sites you see in the TV show.
I havent seen the show, but this is Chuck's home...def a guy's place :P
The Humphreys live in an artist's loft.
Ive always wanted to live in a loft!!!
Serena's place is definitely my favorite :)
They even have a boy's school :P

The Gossip Girl sims were designed for socializing. Fans of the show can actually sign up and enter SL via this sim.
And the main hangout seems to be the New York Chateau (SLURL: Warner Brothers (42,108,28)).
There always seem to be a party or event going on at the sim. Check out the Gossip Girl website for event listings, or just pop into the sim and see where everyone is :)
Click on Search, select Places, and enter "gossip" as the keyword. The SLURL is Warner Brothers (128,128,0).
They even have a HUD you can use to gossip about people you meet in the sim :)

This will be a great place to add to my sim hopping list. :) I see some gorgeous furniture to look at too!
Always ment to look up and see if there was any NYC based areas ( coz lets face it, the price of a rl loft on CPW would be more that I earn in this lifetime).

I guess being a Warner Bros. production there is absolute nothingness in terms of an adult theme.
Buildings look nice, though.

Just like the real NYC, except there aren't all sorts of people crowding you ... and it's missing that "special" smell ... oh, and the trucks aren't double and triple parked!

Moxz, there are definitely some nice apartments here (I think its based on the TV show). They did a good job making them :)

Sly, lol yes its based on the TV show, so I dont think there will be anything from the books ;P (just started reading the first book yesterday :D)

You might be right on that point, but since Disney has taken over 42nd street, adult themes in the Real NYC are dying out.
It was good to be able to walk down by central park. If I were to complain about anything, I would say it does need buggy rides up and down (as it always good to be a tourist)

Well, hope all is well. And don't press yourself to post if you have RL things that need attention. If you never did another tutorial, the amount of work you've put into this site already makes you a clear candidate for SL sainthood!

Phew, that was a but of a scare you gave us there Nat. I quite understand that RL intervenes, but when a prolific blogger disappears for a fortnight without leaving a "Hey, RL calls, BRB" your imagination goes into overdrive.
