Day 426: Giant Snail Racing
Its silly, its slimy, and its a lot of fun!
Its Giant Snail Racing in Second Life :)
Today is the 3rd Anniversary of Giant Snail Racing.
This weekly time-honored um...sport started in the early days of SL, back in Nov 2004!
The Giant Snail avatars are provided free of charge to contestants :)
They are truly gigantic :P
At the start of the races, the contestants line up at the starting gate. Frothing at the mouth...literally *Eeeww* ;P
And race 3 laps around the course...
There are "flingers" that toss the giant snails in the air! And they occasionally miss...
Heehee, the races can be a bit messy! Its a lot of fun and laughs :)
And of course, fame and prizes await the fastest snail!
*Eeeeww* Did something slimy just drip on me?
After the races, join the contestants and fans to watch an instant replay of the event on SLCN Sports.
With commentary :P

If you are interested in racing, be sure to attend the "Giant Snail Training Course" just prior to the race event.
For some guaranteed fun and laughs, come watch or race in one of the Giant Snail Races :) They currently take place on Saturdays at 11am SLT/PST.
Click on Search, select Events, and enter "giant" in the "Name/Desc" box.

i had heard about the snail races on the forums but could not find them, now i know where they are, thanx Nat :)
disapinted the snails are AV's tho and not ridable ones, neverending story style. I guess it reduces lag tho but god dam it i want a snail with a saddle :)

Heehee you might be able to modify the giant snail so they can be ridable (it would take 2 people though). I saw some cool accessories on some of the racers :)

Natalia, it was great to see yo there, and I hope you will race. The Giant Snail Races are one of the best things in SL, and RacerX IS the best bunny in SL--no contest.
