Day 403: Kenroku-en Garden
I hope you had a wonderful Halloween! :)
With the Autumn leaves turning red, this is the perfect time for a garden sim!
Welcome to Kenroku-en Garden!

According to the website, there is a Real Life Kenroku-en Garden in the Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan.
If you dont happen to live near the Ishikawa Prefecture, then you can catch a glimpse of this magical place in SL :)
The first thing you will probably notice about Kenroku-en are the brilliant colors on the trees!
Theres a lake with streams and paths running thru the garden. It makes you want to just sit and meditate all day long :)
And definitely check out the amazing details and textures in this sim!
There are Sulpties everywhere! The trees, the bamboo-lined pathways, and even the goldfishes are Sculpties ;P
Even the shadows move on the ground :) That seems to be the new trend in SL ;P
The cool thing is that the foliage colors and sounds will change with the seasons!
Theres a calendar near the entrance that shows all the different changes thru the year :)
And right next door is the Kanazawa Castle...
Heres your chance to step inside a historic Japanese castle!
They certainly used a lot of sculptie prims back in the old days! ;P

hi ... I love reading about your experiences in SL and seeing all the great places you find. Thanks for the tutorials and "how to" info, too.
One minor suggestion tho .. you know you don't HAVE to be in every single picture that you post :)

I like that you are in every picture. I think it adds something to it,makes it more personal to the reader,IMO. Thank you for showing us these great places.

Sad, sad. Seems Kenroku is gone.
Arnold, the Kenroku garden is still there, but they removed it from the Search/Places listing. You can still get there with the SLURL, or click Map and enter "kenroku" as the sim name...
Very strange...
