Day 143: Feathery Reflections

Happy Valentine's Day! :)

Since its the day of romance, I went to explore the giant cave of Secret Reflections, and the lake at Midnight Reflections.



The Reflections sims are "romance" sims. Thats right, its lush scenery, waterfalls, and strategically placed poseballs :P

Secret Reflections is a giant cave: one the size of an entire sim. Inside are plants, streams, and waterfalls. Unless you look up at the high ceiling above, you wouldnt even know you are in a cave at all!



There are a number of trails that run through the cave and up along the sides, much like the trails at Acropolis Gardens.



At the top is a spectacular view of the entire cave floor.

And if you follow one of the paths up a LONG flight of stairs...



...it goes outside directly above the cave! This area is a beautiful garden. It even has several Paradise Blankets if you need um... privacy.

Paradise Blankets are one of my friend's favorite gadgets :) You can use them for free at a number of sims. Basically, just sit on one of the poseballs on the picnic blanket. Then click on the blanket for a menu of places. Pick a place and altitude. The blanket will take you to the selected altitude, and rez a private scene for you. Since these places are above 200M, few people will be flying around to bother you. Its about as private as you can get in SL!

You can also buy these blankets, but they are pretty expensive ($1199L plus $399L for each package of scene modules). So you should definitely try them out first if you are interested.



There are also a number of exits from the cave that lead into the adjacent sim of Midnight Reflections. Midnight is a large lake, with trails that circle its sides, similar to Bliss Basin.



There are also a number of romantic spots around the top of the mountain that surrounds the lake.

The trails actually continue to a third sim, Image Reflections. There are a number of shops here, including the flagship Image Reflections Designs clothing store.

Its Valentine's Day, so that meant I had to do something romantic. That meant a gown :)











I was digging around the Costumer's Guide website, and came across this beautiful gown from the movie Van Helsing. It looks like the gown was worn by a character named Anna Valerious. I didnt see the movie, but the gown looks too tempting to pass up :)











I especially love all the features on this gown.

In particular, the shoulder attachment with the feathers. Of course, they had to be flexi :) I was actually shocked that they did not have any issues with transparency. They behaved nicely, and flapped about gently when you moved around.

And there are a lot of jewelry pieces too, including the bracelets, earrings, and the dress pin on the bodice. I couldnt get a clear picture of the pin, so I just made something up, and threw in a few diamonds :P

And theres bling everywhere: 1 for each earring and 1 for each bracelet. As my friend told me, "if you dont like bling, just say 'bling off'" :)
