Day 139: Weirdness

Welcome to Olympia's Land of Weirdness!
I wasnt sure whether to write about this place or not. Its well... full of weird stuff... The actual area isnt that big, but it seems the weirdness has spilled into surrounding plots as well :P
Heehee, thats what I call them! :)
Um...did I mention weird?
Heehee the scripters are going to go crazy over that green building behind me :P
"Eyes in Light Syrup"? Eeewwww!
While you're here, pick up a copy of the Babbler Translator HUD! Thats right, its right next door :) Just look for this big plywood ball.
And up on a nearby hill is the famous Skyline Graveyard. Its actually part of SL history (heehee Im studying for the Miss SL Trivia event :P)
Or hop the fence over to the Crimson's Dig in Mauve, home to King Kong!
Olympia's Land of Weirdness is in an older neighborhood in Second Life. So things have been developing here for a while :) The actual area is not that big, but come check out the weirdness and look around the neighborhood.
To come to the Land of Weirdness, click on Search, select the Places tab, and enter "weirdness" as the keyword. The SLURL is Green (165,229,21).
Ive wanted to make this skirt for a while now. This is like the last way I can tweak the bottom of a skirt :)
Ive made skirts with upside-down "V" (Blue Vision). Ive made them sloping across (Bliss). So the only thing left is a right-side-up "V" :)
This dress is named Cleo, after a character in "H2O: Just Add Water", an Australian TV series for teens about um... 3 mermaids. :) (Its on Guba.com) Cleo wore a similar dress in one of the episodes. When I saw the hemline, I knew I had to make it :)
The panels were made with LoopRez, then hand adjusted for length and position. At this point, Im getting used to it!
The dress came out surprisingly nice! Actually no major issues, and the shape works quite well in SL! :)
Oh great and wise Dodo, The Incompetant Oracle, am I getting married soon?
Hey! What do you mean, "Do you want fries with that?"

Hi Nat.
I love this weird world. I am going to visit it soon.
I am sure I am going to enjoy it more since your nice description. It is like I had already been there. It is just the kind of place I was looking for.
Your friend Trouble.

I wrote a new script yesterday, and tested it today, that might assist you in uneven length skirts. It's rather flexible and potentially powerful.
The bottom line is that you can write a notecard that describes how you'd like the length of the skirt to vary around the ellipse of the hemline, and then drop the notecard and a script onto the LoopRez object, and it then re-adjusts all the lengths and positions for you automatically.
It also works for colors, creating smooth gradients across panels.
I'll try to write something about it, and post some screenshots.
Trouble, I hope you have fun at the Land of Weirdness :) There is a lot of SL history at the Green sim... The color-named sims were some of the first sims on SL!
Ged, I cant wait to try the script...going to do it today! You are making LoopRez way too amazing :)
