Day 124: Barcelona
Today, Im wearing an outfit inspired by a designer label from Barcelona. So I thought it fitting to go visit Barcelona in Second Life :)
Barcelona is mainly a shopping sim. At the moment, the stores are not particularly... continental in nature. There is a nice sculpture and a photography gallery.
On the other hand... the guys are definitely not from the rest of SL :P Heehee Barcelona does appear to attract guys from the continent as well, at least during the SL daytime hours (evening in Europe). Im sure glad I had my Babbler with me. So whats "Hey Sexy" in Spanish and Catalan? :P
Aside from shopping, Barcelona is best know for The Café, a live music and dance venue.
The Café features regular acts on most nights. Come down and click on this board to get the latest schedule.
And while youre here, dont forget to check out the Columbus Monument, modeled after the real one in Barcelona! And for once, I think the one in SL is taller!
At the base is an elevator that takes you on a ride to the top. Be sure to sit and stay seated. And use Mouselook (press the "M" key) when you get to the top for a nice view of Barcelona. See...I can take a picture without me in it! :P
To come to Barcelona, click on Search, select the Places tab, and enter "barcelona" as the keyword. The SLURL is Barcelona del Oeste (169,69,24).
This outfit was inspired by a Barcelona designer label. I saw the outfit in a fashion mag and fell in love...just because I have an excuse to use blue hair :P
And blue goes quite well with this outfit!
The texture is a series of small patches from Deviantart.com. They are all individually too small for an outfit, but put together made for a cool retro effect :)
The outfit also has a prim collar and 3 large prim silver buttons. I limited the buttons to the top for fitting reasons: if I added more buttons, they will... um... disappear into the chest... (and Im not the only one enthusiastic about the chest slider, as Ive discovered! :P)
This is basically a blouse with a real collar and buttons. I would assume that a similar design could be used for a men's shirt. And it should be easier, since guys dont have the chest problem :P
Um...Columbus, are you sure thats the way to India? Maybe we should stop and ask for directions...

I'm not sure about sexy, but I have been addressed as "guapetona" by Spanish-speaking residents. I'm just not sure whether they think I'm a large pretty woman or a very pretty woman (-ón or -ona is an "augmentative" suffix, e.g. guitarrón, the humongous guitar played by mariachi). :)

While in your shop spending all my $L's, I suddenly got an idea. You've got a great Valentine's gift for the guys to give the girls, now why don't you make a shirt (or something) to match for "Second Steve" so the girls will have something for the guys? In your adventure as "Second Steve" you did note that it was awful trying to find stuff for guys and I agree! Hmm, maybe a freebie white shirt with a sweater in the same material as the dress?

LadyAyn, thank you for coming to the store! Heehee and yes, Im planning to make an outfit this week with a white dress shirt (really a blouse for a schoolgirl outfit :P). I can shift the buttons around to make it a men's dress shirt.
I wont inflict the red hearts on the guys as a sweater (they will KILL me :P). But maybe as a tie or something :)
Besides, by wearing the Valentines dress, YOU are the Valentines gift for your sweetheart ;P

Aww, man! Typical female response! I swear, Valentine's day is so unfair! You ladies get jewelry, and all sorts of great gifts, and what do the guys get? NADA! That's what! LOL!
A radio DJ for a local station where I live in RL has suggested that the Sunday after Valentine's Day should be officially "Steak and *(something naughty that starts with the initial 'B')* Day".
So ladies, treat your RL man right this upcoming "Steak and B... Day", or if your man is in SL, I suppose one of those naughty pose ball pairings is in order! LOL!
Pyxel, heehee Valentine's Day is for girls! We spend a lot of time and effort looking pretty for you. At least you guys can take us out for dinner :)

That is right, "Guapetona" is a
derivative of "Guapa" = pretty with
the femenine augmentative -ona;
meaning your a very pretty woman,
it's common street language.
