Day 48: Lady Natalia's Promotion and Color Balance in Photoshop

Here I am as Lady Natalia in front of Pixel Dolls. OK, so theres a whole bunch of things wrong with this picture. Ill try to sort them out one at a time.
Pixel Dolls makes a line of women's clothing, accessories, and skins. I dont like to feature businesses, but this is too good to miss. Pixel Dolls is having a $50L clearance sale on ALL items, INCLUDING SKINS. Everything in the store is $50L or less (except for some items from other vendors). A friend of mine told me about this sale (thank you, and I hate you for making me spend all that money ;P). The clearance is for a limited time only, so check it out.
Next, why am I dressed as Lady Natalia outside of a Gorean sim? Well...I worked on the Gorean outfit today... :P
Last and most importantly, why are my Robes blue? Hee hee thats the good news. I got promoted to be the Chief Scribe of Tharna. And blue is the caste color for the Caste of Scribes. Being a member of the Caste of Scribes, I am now a High Caste! (That just means my ransom costs more if I am ever captured :P)
So now, I handle all registrations for the City (sorta the official registrar/city clerk). Citizens have already started filing papers with me!
But the most important part, of course, is that I will need a wardrobe update! :) Out with the old white and gold merchant outfits, in with the new blue outfits.
I wanted to make blue robes that are lighter in color, instead of a dark solid blue. Also, I wanted to trim the robes, either with gold or white lace. I went back to deviantart.com to hunt for Photoshop patterns. There were a few blue patterns, but not well suited for the robes/gown.
So I took a existing tan and white pattern I had used before and decided to tweak the color channels on the pattern to make it blue. Basically, you can tweak each RGB component. Goto Image/Adjustments/Color Balance. I raised the color balance of Blue to "+100" for Shadows, Midtones, and Highlights. I also lowered the balance of Red to "-100" for Midtones.
Here is the resulting pattern, ready to use on the robes/gown. OK, if you are an old hand at Photoshop, this is second nature to you. But Im new to this, so its kinda cool! :)
With a little bit of white trim, and the outfit is ready to go! :)

Hi Natalia, I believe I recently got some wonderful freebies out of your shop (the gemstone and fur textures).
However...... I completely stink at making tops in Photoshop. Do you know of anyone, link, tutorial that would teach me how to make clothes?
